Did Morton Students Come To Conferences?

Edwin Zarco, Reporter

At Morton East, most students end up skipping parent-teacher conferences.

In a recent random survey of 119 Morton East students, 37 students reported having attended this year’s parent-teacher conferences. This means that only 31% of students have attended the 2021-2022 school year conferences.

Even though Morton East was offering virtual conferences with teachers — in addition to in person meetings– the majority of students and families skipped this year’s conferences. This is mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and students’ responsibilities outside of class. Unless the pandemic ends by the 2022-2023 school year, we could see a similar occurrence happening next school year.
