The majority of Morton East homes have artificial Christmas trees this year.
One hundred random Morton East students took a survey on Christmas trees; it looks like 62 of them have artificial trees, 10 have real trees, and a surprising 22 have no tree at all.
“I just bought an artificial tree at Family Dollar for $10. It’s four feet tall and white; it looks vintage. And, I bought two packs of colored lights for $1.50 each. So, for $13, I got a fly-looking Tannenbaum,” English Teacher Mr. Kent Frankfother said.
While most here prefer artificial trees, others like the smell and reality of real trees. Either way, it’s all part of the season.
“It’s the experience that is fun. Getting the tree and decorating is the point and joy of the season,” one Morton student said.
