On November 16, 2022. I had the chance to go to my cousin Army graduation in South Carolina, Fort Jackson. I was surprised to see the amount of young adults that had joined and graduated. And sad to see that not many families were able to go.

According to assistant principal Dr. Michael Parrie, “for East, 108 students out of 3,197 students have a parent connected to the military.  Of these 108 students, 14 parents gave detail to the branch:  1 Navy, 4 Marine Corps, 8 Army, and 1 Air Force.”

“At the Freshman Center, 9 students out of 1,188 students have a parent connected to the military.  Of these 9 students, 1 parent gave detail to the branch, which was the Army,” Dr. Parrie said.
