Chicken took the prize in 2020 with Chick Fill A and Wing Stop tied for the best fast food restaurant of the year.

In a random survey of 50 students at Morton East, 10 students said, Chick Fil-A and Wing Stop were the best fast food restaurants of 2020.

According to, “Chick-Fil-A history”, by Truett Cathy, “everything started in 1946 when Truett Cathy decides to open the original diner, the “Dwarf Grill”, in the Atlanta suburb of Haperville. At the time, Cathy had such a big heart for his employees that his restaurant started to give out scholarships to their team members wishing them to pursue higher education level with their help”. Chick-Fil-A is known for its original hand breaded chicken sandwich. Chick-Fil-A has grown out a lot than now; they have a restaurant in 47 out of the 50 states in the U.S. Wing stop came out in the top as well too with 8 students saying that this was their favorite restaurant. According to, “Wing Stop: about us”, everything began in Garland, Texas in 1994. People accepted this type of chicken so fast that by 2002, they had served over 1 billion wings to their community. Wing Stop and Buffalo Wild Wings are always going to be debate, some people say Wing Stop is better but some do not agree. Students from Morton East high school said Wing Stop was the best fast food place along with Chick-Fil-A. Interestingly people love Wing Stop because there are so many flavors you could pick, at WingStop, there are 11 or more flavors to pick, for example Hawaiian, lemon pepper, hickory smoked BBQ, and this is why WingStop got number one along with Chick-Fill-A.

“Chick-Fil-A because they have a variety of food from junk to healthy. The chicken in the chicken sandwich is boneless and seasoned to perfection. They have a different styles fries than other fast foods called the waffle fries. Chick-fil-A welcomes everyone and has great employees with great manners.” Morton East Senior Ruth Nava pointed out.

Wing Stop tied in first place because of the quality chicken they serve.

“Wing stop has a great quality of wings and they’re so good, the sauces they offer make the wings taste better”, Morton East senior Ray Malvaez said.

McDonalds came in second place with 9 votes.

According to “Britannica”, the first McDonald’s restaurant was started in 1948 by brothers Maurice (“Mac”) and Richard McDonald in San Bernardino, California.

Portillos came in 3^rd place with 7 votes.

According to “Portillo’s history”, Portillo’s was founded in 1963 by Dick Portillo. After returning from serving in the Marines, Portillo gathered money from his savings and from an investment from his brother Frank to open a hotdog stand. They bought a 12-foot trailer that had no restroom and no running water. They named it “The Dog House”.

“Portillos have some good quality hot dogs and their chocolate cake is so good”, Morton East senior Adrian Saavedra exclaimed.

Taco bell received no votes whatsoever.

The first TacoBell location featured fire pits and mariachi bands.
