She is high school freshman, and she has 134-monthly listeners.
Gianna Porcelli is a rising star from Berwyn, Illinois, and she’s just a regular 14-year-old trying to find her way in the music world. While many artists hit it big in their late teens or early twenties, Gianna feels a bit out of place. “Sometimes I feel like I can’t relate,” she exclaims, pointing out how tough it is to see so many young musicians get all this attention while she’s still figuring things out.
Gianna is also the niece of Morton East literacy teacher Mr. Tony Asay.
“Last year, when journalism students took their annual trip to see a White Sox game, Mr. Asay alerted us to the fact that his niece was the one singing the National Anthem. That was so cool!” said journalism teacher Kent Frankfother.
Being young in the music industry can be hard. A lot of people look down on young artists, thinking they don’t have enough life experience to create meaningful music. But Gianna knows that’s not true. She pours her heart into her songs, sharing her thoughts and feelings that come from being a teenager today. With her unique sound and relatable lyrics, Gianna is determined to prove that age doesn’t define talent. As she navigates high school and her music career, she’s ready to show everyone what she’s made of and inspire other young artists along the way.
“That’s why my music is what it is—it’s real, it’s honest, and it’s me.” Keep an eye on Gianna Porcelli—she’s just getting started!
