The majority of students at Morton East find themselves watching deep-cleaning videos, which is a trend on TikTok under the hashtag #CleanTok.

According to OBERLO.com, TikTok has been downloaded over 2 billion times worldwide. It was first launched in China in 2016. The app currently has 689 million monthly active users. The average TikTok user spends more than 50 minutes per day on the app. In a random poll of Tiktok Trends Morton East students report to spend more time watching #CleanTok videos rather than any of the other trends on TikTok.

“I like spending time on CleanTok because I find cleaning videos satisfying to watch and with just searching the #CleanTok I could watch all the content about cleaning I want,” senior Marilyn Martinez said.

Another Morton East student feels differently.

“I prefer to spend time watching #WordsOfWisdom videos because I feel like it’s beneficial to hear other peoples’ advice and perspectives,” junior Ashley Aguirre said.

The #CleanTok videos were ranked the most watched by Morton East students with #WordsOfWisdom videos following next.

“I enjoy watching CleanTok videos because it inspires me to clean and try out different cleaning hacks I get from the trend,” sophomore Jennifer Soto said.
