Students have been using their phones more than ever lately.

According to The New York Times, by The Leading Network, over time they asked 300 students about how much they are using their phones. They admitted to spending at least eight hours a day online on their phones. In a poll of 50 students, 40 have agreed students are using more their phones more now than ever.

” I think students are using their phones more because they either are doing homework or using them to be connected when they have classes going on. Or, maybe they’re (just) bored being stuck at home due to the pandemic that is happening right now,” senior Michelle Velazquez said.

Being stuck at home may be one of the main reasons why they are using more their phones.

“I believe yes, Students are using phones now more than ever they get really entertained by it,” senior Anarely Diaz said.

Students usually use their phones to get entertained because they can’t go outside or hang out with their friends.

“I feel like phones are distracting students and messing up their way of thinking. Also, not letting them get enough sleep as they supposed to and using your phones too much damages your eyes,” senior Lorena Cabrales said.

Recently now students are also having problems sleeping because they are always on the phone and they don’t waste energy as they should so they could have a good healthy sleep.
