So far this season, the Morton varsity football team has won one game, lost six, but an increase in fans this year makes the team more hopeful for victories.

The Morton East football team plays their home games and practices at the Morton West field.  Some students say They practice there because they have better equipment over there to play those types of sports. The Morton Mustang football team record during the 2017 season was 9 games played and only 1 game was won with a staggering 8 defeats. Morton competes in the West Suburban Conference.  Morton is part of the Illinois High School Association which governs most sports and competitive activities in the state. According to a random survey that was gathered of 110 people about whether they have gone to see a Morton Mustang Football game, 57 people have gone, and 53 people have not been to a game. The football team is ravenous for wins and will not go down easy.

“We have new players that haven’t played in varsity before, so they are learning after every game,” senior Aurelio Servin #42 said.

The Seniors must show the Juniors that they are playing in higher standards than they’re used to.

“I feel that this shows that we still have a long way to go and that we are improving after every game,” senior Rogelio Rubio #52 said.

The varsity football team are learning from their mistakes and correcting them by looking back on some of their past games.

“This year’s football team is reevaluating the plays that they performed last year and are improving on them,” senior Rogelio Rubio #52 said.
