Morton East offers a student coffee café to students during the mornings before class; spread the word!
According to a random survey of 100 Morton East students, 23 students know about the new student coffee café (or have tried the café), and 77 students don’t know about the new student café at all. Students can pay for their drinks by scanning their ID and paying the amount they owe in cash only. The cafe also offers cereal, yogurts, fruit and more food options for free.
According to ChatGPT, many student cafes are managed by students’ councils, giving them the opportunity to take ownership. Student cafés serve as an energy boost for those students who need their morning coffee. Some schools use student cafes to help collect money for fundraisers or things needed around the school. These cafes in many schools offer things such as pastries, yogurts, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, smoothies, and more.
“I have tried the student coffee café; it’s okay to be honest. I would rather take extra time in the morning and waste 2 more dollars on something I actually will enjoy. I also think they should offer more food options instead of just fruit, milk, and cereal,” said senior Andrea Olivares.
There are some students who have tried the café and don’t think it’s worth it, and then there are some students who haven’t had a chance to stop by and give their opinion on the drinks.
“I knew about the café but never really had the chance to grab something. From what I saw, the prices for the coffee are around 3 dollars,” said Junior Joaquin Medina.
But, with students knowing about the student coffee café and knowing some prices, there are other students who’ve just heard rumors.
“I’ve heard rumors about the new café, but I didn’t know it was a real thing until now. I do think that because of this new café, students might be on time more since they can buy coffee for a cheap price,” said Senior Diego Vazquez.
Many students believe the café is a good thing for students to be on time, and others believe it’s a good chance to spice up the school.
“I never tried it, so I don’t really have an opinion about it, but I will say it is probably a good change. It spices the school up more,” said senior Kevin Sanchez.
There are students at Morton East who haven’t tried the café but believe it’s a good change and investment for the school.
“I haven’t tried anything from the student coffee café, but I think the students are enjoying the food and coffees. It sounds like a good investment for the school,” said senior Galilea Medina.
