Egg prices are on the rise

Egg prices have gone up by 60% in 2022 and are still rising.

Prices of eggs have gone us so much because of a disease called the avian influenza virus. So much so that some people have decided to even adopt chickens of their own to avoid paying the prices off eggs. This however has people questioning if this is really a good idea some experts say you will spend more on the chickens Housing then you will save by not just buying eggs from a store. Some of these people say it will pay off over the long time and some even say they have already profited from this idea. Regardless of how you adapt to the prices though this increase in price has caused some people to not be able to afford to be able to buy eggs. Which has caused a lot of people troubles since eggs are an important part of meals.

Some people have considered just not buying eggs because they can’t afford to keep buying them.

“I have had to think on whether to get eggs or not when I walk into grocery stores now,” Robert Nicholas a Cicero resident and a fast food worker said.

For some people the increase in prices of eggs alongside with inflation has become too much for them to afford.

“The egg price alone wouldn’t have been a big problem but with inflation it’s made it harder to afford eggs,” Oscar Gallardo a Cicero resident and delivery driver said.

Fortunately, this isn’t a unrepairable obstacle for everyone as some people are not affected by this unfortunate disease in birds.

“I am fortunate enough to still be able to afford eggs these days with prices having raised so much,” Arturo Acosta a resident in Washington and a technician said.

The new egg plantation blowing up has raised concerns on whether the prices will continue.

“So far I can still afford to continue buying eggs but with the plantation incident I am concerned on if egg prices might continue to rise even further and I won’t be able to afford it,” Monica Hernandez a restaurant owner and La Grange resident said.
