This is what students/staff at Morton East had to say about boba tea.
“No, the balls (of tapioca) feel weird.” senior Andy Padilla
While Andy finds the texture unappealing, the math teacher Sarah has a different perspective on boba.
“I do like Boba, but do not drink it often. Sometimes the texture is not to my liking, and I must be in the mood for it,” math teacher Sarah Schoel said.
Interestingly, Sarah shares some of Andy’s concerns about texture, but Christian seems to embrace it fully.
It’s pretty good I like it I enjoy that it’s sugary, and I like those black balls (of tapioca) in the drink,” Senior Christian Torres said.
Christian’s enthusiasm for Boba contrasts with Andy’s feelings, and Berenice is even more excited about it.
“Oh yeah, I love Boba. The tapioca beads are very chewable, and it goes well with the drink you get,” Senior Berenice Velero said.
Berenice’s enthusiasm highlights the fun aspect of boba, and it seems that teachers, too, have their favorites.
“I do like Boba preferably the taro flavor. It’s a good, sweet treat,” English teacher Miranda Garcia said.
Miranda’s preference for taro adds another layer to the discussion, showing just how diverse everyone’s tastes can be when it comes to boba.
