Country music was very popular in 2020. Many Morton students believed that country music was popular in 2020 because the students that listen to country music prefer it over other genres.

During a random survey about which country artists made the biggest impact on there life’s in 2020 Morton east students said that more the 2 artists made an impact on there life’s  in 2020 during everything that was going on in the world. According to boys news “It seems that music helps us concentrate and study as well. Out of those studied, 88.5 percent of people said that they listen to music when they study, work on homework, and other activities such as that. That leaves on 11.5 percent of people who don’t”. In a random survey of 25 Morton students they revealed that Luke combs was the top artist of 2020. Interestingly more then half of the students choose Luke combs he was number one with a number of 12 votes.

I asked a senior at Morton east what her thoughts were and why she choose Luke combs she said “ me personally i originally listen to country music but during 2020 i started listening to new and old artists Luke combs is one of the many artists that had the biggest impact on me his music is just very inspiring.” Said senior Alaysha Rivera.

Out of all the other artists Kane brown came in second place on the lists of artist in 2020. More then half of the students tied between Luke combs and Kane brown because it was a close call because they are to great artists. Kane brown had 10 votes on the survey out of all the other artists that were an option. Kane brown is a bigger artist in the country industry he has been making music for a while and has many awards on th top of the bill board.

“ in my opinion i think that Kane brown is a way better the any other country artist and the way he approaches his music and his fans is very inspiring to me. Country music really makes me feel open and free but mostly open minded.” Said Cicero resident Alexus Rivera.

In third place came Thomas Rhett with a number of 8 votes. Thomas Rhett is not a newer artist but he is not as popular as Luke combs and Kane brown are in the country genre. Many people said they were less likely to choose Thomas Rhett jus because they don’t really know him or they just don’t prefer him as an artist or the way his music his or makes them feel.

        “Thomas Rhett is not my favorite artist but he is also not my least I just don’t prefer to listen to him on a regular basis i just listen to the same 3 country artists on repeat almost everyday its just what I’m used to doing and it kind of became a pattern for me”. Said senior Maria Rodriguez.
