Students think enrichment not necessary

Most students think that enrichment hour is not necessary on half days.

Enrichment hour is given to us once a month for half a day. Enrichment hour is an extra toward the end of the school half-day where students can go to a class they need to improve on and raise their grade, but if there’s no need for that, they’ll send you to the gymnasium where they’ll have you do an optional school activity there, like join the little games that they have. But most students don’t take advantage of this, and just leave school in all together. Over time, security has started to notice more students leaving during enrichment hour.

“I would recognize at least 50 students who would ditch enrichment hour, and only warn them, but I would see around 100 of them leaving the building,” said an anonymous security guard.

Others see this as a positive thing. For example, Mr. Doogan says he’s not in favor of getting rid of enrichment hour.

“But, I wish there were more options for students who are on track,” Mr. Doogan said.

One of the Team members in charge of enrichment hour are thinking of adding more activities and options for students attending enrichment hour.

After being asked the question of “What is planned for future enrichment hour?” Mr. Borgardt responded with “Breakout sessions, college information, and many more activities.”
