Class of 1976 came home to visit the rooms, memories, and halls they once walked through to get to class.

On Homecoming day, Alumni from the Class of 1976 reunited at Morton East to tour the school they once attended. The tour began in the 4th floor going all the way down to the 1st floor led by Ms. Jenicek. Throughout the tour Ms. Jenicek would briefly give the history and improvements of each section of the building has had. As the alumni reminisced on what use to be of the building where some of their most unforgettable events occurred. They also came to the realization of how much it has changed.

“It was the best 4 years of this school. All the people, the fashion it was great, the long hair, the mullet, we had shags and ‘fros,” Greg Porod said.

Of course it was still high school, the fashion, the social ladder and the assorted cliques.

” It was the 70’s, ya know? There was a lot of trouble. The fashion was so cool; everyone was wearing bell bottoms and their satin shorts.  Girls wore two tops which was big back then. Lots of girls would be sent home for wearing stuff too short or too tight. You were divided into different groups; you had the jocks who were in sports, you had the greasers who wore the “work pants,” and then you had the freaks who had long hair and who would party,” Scott Paton said.

Some of the alumni even shared some of advice for current students and shared their experiences at Morton East.

“This is when you can make your mistakes without them having tons of replications for the rest of your life, people may say “oh! if you mess up now it’s all over,” but that’s part of discovering yourself,” Jerry Crystal said.
