Friday, November 18, was another regular day at Morton East or so it was thought. At around 11:10 am, the lights throughout the whole school went out. “Lightning struck an antenna located above the field house” Morton East security Carlos said. Students were on their way to their next class using their phone flashlights.   It became “a little chaotic” in the hallways with students bumping into one another. For our pregnant Morton East ladies, it was a frightening moment. “I don’t know how I made it to class without my belly getting hit,” senior Mitzy Arias (who is 8 months pregnant) said . Even though Friday was an unusual and chaotic day, no one was reported hurt — including our pregnant girls.
