Senior student has ghostly experience

About half of us here at East probably believe in ghosts.

In an informal class survey, 15 students claim ghosts are real while 15 do not believe in them.  Also, eight students claimed to have experienced something paranormal.    Senior Daniela Vargas swears she had a paranormal experience.

“It was a Saturday night, around 1 a.m. I had just come out of work with my boyfriend. We were in front of my house (in the car) when suddenly everything outside went completely black,” Daniela said.

But the story doesn’t stop there.

“(After it went dark) I looked back and saw black shadows. I told my boyfriend that someone was there, but when he looked back, he said there wasn’t anyone there. After about 10 seconds of silence, we hear some taps on the side window – no one was there – but the window was dirty!” Daniela added.

Many people believe in life after death — even here at Morton East.

“Yes, I believe in the afterlife; I believe our energy transfers into the universe,” English teacher Mrs. Robison said.

Other staff may be skeptical, but spiritual.

“I do not believe in ghost, but beliefs in the afterlife,” school security Luis said.
